2 years ago i took an anthropology class in college and i wrote a paper on material culture and prefaced it with “i’m just a material girl living in a material world” and to break up sections of text i had pictures of kanye west = material culture as indicators of status and power - “his baby mama’s car crib is bigger than his” and justin bieber = we attach arbitrary meaning and rituals to certain objects - “i’ll give you anything, i’ll give you any ring baby baby ooooohh” and then i think i had a picture of fergie but i don’t remember why ???
